In 1995, Heritage Builders was founded by three fathers. Designed to motivate and assist families as they become intentional about the heritage passing process. Otis and Jim continue to equip families today with their goal and passion being to give the next generation of families the proven knowledge and tools needed to pass their faith to their children.
About J. Otis Ledbetter
J. Otis Ledbetter lives in Clovis, California, with his wife Gail. He is an author, conference speaker, and the Lead Pastor at Sonrise Church. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Liberty University’s Theological Seminary. He and Gail have three grown children and twelve grandchildren. He has written numerous articles for magazines and specializes in Heritage Builders workshops nationally and internationally, which teach parents and grandparents the spiritual, emotional, and social components of the heritage they are passing to the next generation. His books include Your Heritage, In the Secret Place, Soul Hunger: Satisfy Your Heart’s Deepest Longing, and his latest 2022 release Set Free: Released from the Damage of Trauma. He has been featured on numerous radio and television broadcasts. His book Your Heritage was distributed as a premium offer on Billy Graham’s Hour of Decision.
About Jim Weidmann
The Family Night Guy
Jim Weidmann helps train and resource parents to become intentional in passing their faith to their children, and, to come alongside the church and help them educate, equip and encourage parents in the process.
He is the voice of The Family Night Guy, a 60 second feature providing parents with simple ways to teach their children the values of their faith. Through practical, powerful and entertaining vignettes, Jim shares activities and tips that help parents pass on a spiritual legacy and heritage.
As a popular author and speaker, Jim also enjoys showing parents how to teach their children biblical principles. He is co-author of the Family Night Tool Chest series of books, Spiritual Milestones, The Power of Teachable Moments, Dad If You Only Knew and served as General Editor on A Parents' Guide to the Spiritual Mentoring of Teens.
Jim has been featured on many radio programs, including Focus on the Family with Dr. James Dobson, Promise Keepers radio and Family Life radio.
Jim currently serves as the Grace Chapel’s Men of Valor teacher/leader in Denver Colorado. Jim has served as the Senior Vice President/ COO for Promise Keepers, responsible to implement strategy and oversee the day-to-day operations. He also served, for 10 years, as Vice Chairman of the National Day of Prayer Task Force and as Executive Director of HB at Focus on the Family.
Jim worked with IBM in sales and marketing for 12 years, has been a football coach for the U.S. Air Force Academy and is a former Air Force pilot. He holds a B.S. degree in Engineering Mechanics from the Academy and an M.B.A. from Hardin Simmons University with a concentration in Marketing.
Jim has enjoyed over 40 years of marriage to his wife, Janet. They have four children and fourteen grandchildren.
